Snapshots of the wonderful time we had yesterday at the first run of our Mistletoe Camp! We read 2 delightful titles specially handpicked for this season of love and giving, learnt through fun and play, and spent an extremely enriching day together!
The 2nd run of our Mistletoe Camp will be held on 3 December 2018 (Monday) at Imaginasium (Alexandra Central Mall)! We still have some vacancies left, so if you are looking to boosting your child's interest in Mandarin this school holiday, register your child now!
The kids from our June Sunflower holiday camp are all ready for the upcoming Dumpling Festival!
Using our very own 《伊伊，端午节快乐》Dumpling Festival Story Pack, we learnt all about the traditional Chinese festival, from the story of Qu Yuan, to the different flavours of rice dumplings (fondly known as bak chang), and not forgetting our very own dragon boat race! We even had a post-lunch trip to Singapore's largest children's Chinese book store, Maha Yu Yi!
Not forgetting our special guest, Ms Ding Li, more fondly known as 丁丁老师! Author of our featured story book 《伊伊，端午节快乐》, she shared the wonderful story with our camp participants, followed by hands-on craft and language activities!
What a fruitful March school break it was! We ran 3 day camps for children aged 5-8 years old at Bras Basah Complex and had a great time with the wonderful budding readers!
Using our very own 《朋朋爱盖章，砰！》stamping art story pack, we explored topics ranging from animals to emotions, got creative with vegetable stamp art and finger painting, and even had a post-lunch trip to Singapore's largest children's Chinese book store, Maha Yu Yi!
Not forgetting our special guest speaker, Mr Lee Kow Fong, more fondly known as 阿果! One of Singapore's most renowned and talented children's Chinese book author and illustrator, he taught participants on the use of colours and tones to express emotions. The little ones then had a hands-on session drawing on the walls (lined with mahjong paper)!
The March school break is upon us, and both parents and children are all set to enjoy this short break from the usual school routines and homework marathons.
Language is an integral part of our daily lives, and language learning is a continuous journey. School holidays are, therefore, perfect for authentic language learning experiences to take place!
