In support of World Book Day 2019, Dandelion is collaborating with NLB and MOE-CPCLL to bring to you 2 FREE story sessions for families at Sengkang Public Library (Programme Zone)!
Session 1: Suitable for families with children aged 5-8
All Mummy Elephant wants is five minutes' peace from her energetic children, but chaos follows her all the way from the kitchen to the bath and back again. 《让我安静五分钟》 is an extremely enjoyable read not just children, but also for parents!
Session 2: Suitable for families with children aged 2-4
Elephant wakes up grumpy—until ding, dong! What’s in the surprise box at the front door? A hat! HOORAY FOR HAT! Elephant marches off to show Zebra, but Zebra is having a grumpy day, too—until Elephant shares his new hat and cheers up his friend. Off they march to show Turtle! The parade continues as every animal brightens the day of a grumpy friend.《你需要一顶帽子》 is an irresistible celebration of friendship, sharing, and fabulous hats!

Reading Together @ South West is an initiative by the South West Community Development Council to promote bilingualism through reading, as well as encourage quality family bonding time as a community. With support from the Lee Kuan Yew Fund for Bilingualism, library corners will be set up at 17 Residents' Committee (RC) centres around the district, and the new RC reading corners will also be used for monthly storytelling sessions and other culturally based family activities.
On 1 September 2018, through collaboration with Singapore Book Council, our founder Miss Liang Huiyu conducted a storytelling training workshop for the storytelling volunteers from South West CDC. She shared her expertise and knowledge on children's picture books, as well as storytelling techniques that could engage the audience and make storytelling sessions fun, enriching and meaningful.
We look forward to the upcoming sessions with them!
We had a great day at Rosyth School conducting a Mandarin holiday camp for P1 & P2 students using our 《妈妈的小小向日葵》story pack!
